Protection

If you’re planning on spending any time outdoors, it’s important to be protected for anything the weather can throw at you. Here at Dare 2b, we like to focus on creating practical fabric technologies that help protect you whether you’re on the slopes, road or mountains.

ARED

Garments engineered with Dare 2b’s ARED fabrics provide durable waterproof protection, with a superior level of breathability for enhanced comfort when you need it most, even in the harshest conditions. We measure the waterproof level or ‘hydrostatic head’ of all our garments and offer a full hierarchy of performance, starting at 3,000mm all the way up to 30,000mm. Our ARED garments have been tested in real-life conditions to keep you performing at your best.

If you are not satisfied with any of our ARED product we will repair, replace or refund your purchase up to 3 years. All ARED products are classified as truly windproof and hold up against the most demanding standards.

ARED 3000-5000mm

ARED 3000-5000mm

Products with a rating of 3000-5000mm can be worn for everyday activities, from walks to park runs, they will protect you from light to average rain.
ARED 8000-150000mm

ARED 8000-15000mm

Products with a rating of 8000-15000mm can be worn for longer walks or hikes and will protect you from moderate to heavy rain or snow.
ARED 20000-30000mm

ARED 20000-30000mm

Products with a rating of 20000-30000mm offer very high waterproof and breathable protection and can be worn for skiing, snowboarding and more intense outdoor activities. They will protect from very heavy rain or snowfall.

ARED 30000-30000mm

Products with a rating of 30000-30000mm include our highest rating of waterproof and breathable fabric technology. With a 30000mm water column rating to keep you dry in the harshest of conditions, to a 30000 breathability rating for unprecendented comfort and dryness - perfect for extreme weather sports.

ILUS

ILUS technology features in Dare 2b’s second layer garments. These softshell, windshell & core stretch fabrics are designed to keep you warm and/or dry. Ideal for layering under jackets in harsher climates, our ILUS garments are comfy & lightweight and have been tested in real-life conditions to keep you performing at your best.

ILUS Endure Softshell
ILUS Endure Softshell products combine the comfort of a soft midlayer and the water resistence of a shell in one garment. ILUS Softshell provides breathability, water and wind resistence keeping the wearer comfortable and dry all year round.

ILUS Core Stretch
Ideal for a variety of different activities, ILUS Core Stretch offers 4 way stretch for full freedom of movement. A brushed back finish provides warmth and comfort. ILUS Core Technology is a first choice for experienced outdoor enthusiasts.

ILUS Windshell
ILUS Windshell is a lightweight fabric that helps to eliminate windchill. With it’s advanced water repellency and breathability features, it makes it the ideal choice as an outer layer in milder conditions.

AEP

Our cycle clothing is engineered with Advanced Ergonomic Performance technology for optimum fit and performance. It has been anatomically contoured to fit the riding position giving less volume and making the garments more compact, perfect for even the most gruelling of rides.

AEP Kinematics
Products designed with AEP Kinematics technology have a 360 degree stretch fit and advanced articulation to enhance power and agility. Using data collected in our studies, we have analysed the body’s points of motion during athletic performance to engineer products made to move. AEP Kinematics introduces a new concept, specifically designed for each activity, so you can perform at your best.

Overheating can be a very real issue, even on the slopes. Our warmth fabric technologies have been created to help you regulate your body temperature, whilst also helping to keep your skin feel cool and comfortable during your workouts.

VECTCool
Built to keep you cool. VECTCool technology uses a thermo-conductive graphene compound to regulate body temperature, keeping you cooler by up to 3 degrees. Ideal for intense workouts or training sessions.

iLOFT Woolfill
iLoft Woolfill gives increased breathability and performance in humid conditions. Using wool keeps the body at optimum temperature and wicks away moisture.

iLOFT Air
No down, just warmth. iLOFT AQir Insulation is made from recycled plastic bottles to offer the ultimate warmth to weight ratio without using any fur or down products.

QWIC
Products designed with QWIC fabrics offer quick drying properties to keep you dry and comfortable during any workout. The material wicks away sweat and moisture from the skin to the outer surface of the fabric to keep you feeling fresh.

QWIC Plus
Our lightweight QWIC+ fabric is not only quick drying and sweat-wicking, it also has anti-bacterial properties which eliminate odour to keep you feeling fresh and comfortable.

Visibility

An early morning workout is one of the best ways to start the day, but when you’re up before the sun is, it’s important to stay safe during your outdoor workouts. Our visibility fabric technology ensures that you can be seen, and be safer in the dark.

Biomotion Reflective
Biomotion Technology uses strategically placed reflective trims to optimise the wearer’s visibility at greater distances. Trims are placed on points of movement to allow a person to be detected as a human rather than an object. Perfect for late night runs or early morning training in low light conditions.

FAQ's

ARED is our in house developed waterproof technology. Our ARED fabrics have a waterproof membrane attached to the outer fabric which blocks out the water whilst maintaining a level of breathability.

Our ILUS Endure softshell does not have a windproof membrane. However, the tight knit construction of the fabric will block out a light breeze.

Yes, our ILUS Endure softshell is a lightweight breathable fabric.

The Illume Lightweight Windshell is handwash only & the battery pack must be removed before washing. The LED lights do not need to be removed as long as all fasteners are closed. We recommend not using detergents or conditioner as this can affect the DWR on the fabric.
