A key part of your look on the slopes are Ski Pants or Ski Trousers as they ensure you keep your legs warm and dry on the mountains. There are many factors of ski pants to consider as they can be made of many different types of fabric all affecting the feel, look and often the waterproofness of the trousers. The type of skiing you choose to do will affect what ski pants will be most suitable for you. A budget will also need to be decided by thinking about how often you plan to ski in the future. At Dare 2b, our ski pants are available in a range of different things such as style, prices and even waterproof ratings so you can choose the best ski pants for you!
Uninsulated Ski Pants
These are the most versatile type of ski pants or snow trouser as they have an insulated shell with a lining for a little extra warmth and comfort. If you get cold easily then we would recommend some base layer leggings and shell pants instead, as layering is the most efficient way to keep warm.
Insulated ski pants
An insulated ski pant consists of a waterproof "shell" outer layer with an inner insulated layer. For different ski pants, the level of insulation will vary and we would consider high-waisted ski salopettes or bib pants for any additional warmth.
Softshell Ski Pants
Made from a soft woven fabric, softshell ski pants offer a greater freedom of movement and are highly breathable. They are perfect if you are particularly energetic on the slopes and if weather conditions are likely to be dry.
Waterproof Ski Trousers
Uninsulated, insulated and softshell ski pants all offer some level of waterproofness or repellency and this is measured using a hydrostatic head test. The fabric is pulled tight under a sealed tube of water which is then absorbed over some time to determine how many millimetres of water the fabric will be able to withstand before any seeps through. Our Dare 2b ARED waterproof technology is available from 5000 to 20,000.
Ski Pant Key Features
It is important to look out for the following features when choosing the perfect ski trousers and salopettes, and at Dare 2b our ski trousers feature the following features to keep you dry and still look good on the slopes.

Fit
If you prefer a retro racing glamour of a slim fit ski pant, then we would recommend looking for a 4-way stretch or softshell ski pant to allow for total freedom of movement and also a great fit. We also offer a wide selection of ski pants for women, including a skinny fit that offers a very feminine silhouette and fits perfectly with our favourite luxe range of jackets and mid layers.
If you are looking for a more bespoke fit, some of our men's and women's snow pant collections offer varying leg lengths to suit all skiers. Also, our kids collection includes a grow cuff too, allowing you to extend the length of your trousers as your little ones grow!

Stretch Fabric
Maximising mobility and freedom of movement are our stretch fabric ski pants. Our most premium stretch technology, AEP Kinematics, is used to provide total freedom of movement by studying the bodies points of motion.
-
Snow Gaiter
Most ski pants have a snow gaiter. This is a waterproof seal that is designed to fit around your ski boots to keep any snow and water from entering. Gaiters may have hooks that connect to your ski boots' buckles for that extra protection, all adjustable to ensure they are the right fit.
-
Cuff Reinforcement
Ski pants, unlike snowboard pants, are usually reinforced where the inner edge of the ski is likely to wear the fabric of the pants down. At Dare 2b, an extra-durable fabric is used to reinforce the cuffs and protect the pants against contact with your ski edges and crampons.
-
Fully Taped
Dare 2b's fully-taped ski pants have every seam taped on the inside of the seam, all for ultimate waterproof protection in case of harsh weather conditions.
