Trysil in Norway is a resort that has something for everyone. It's three hours away from Oslo and just a 45 minutes drives from the Scandinavian Mountains Airport. The resort itself has over 70 different runs ranging from beginners all the way through to advanced. For those more advanced, why not try Trysil's off piste areas that weave through the picturesque Vihammerskogen forest.

Looking for something more family friendly? Then Ruka could be right up your street. This resort is more suited to beginners with a smattering of intermediate runs known as the Front Slopes. Ruka offers skiing a massive 200 days a year across 35 different slopes.

This is one of the most modern ski resorts in Eastern Europe. It has a mix of alpine skiing,  ski running, freestyle skiing, ski touring and snowboarding across 24 marked slopes. There's also a range of off piste areas for those of you who ski at a higher level. Borovets is less than two hours away from Sofia, making it easy to access even with public transport. And if you're worried that you won't have enough to do, then there's plenty of apres ski bars and lounges to spend time in, and you even have the option to visit one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Bulgaria, the Rila Monastery, which has been included in UNESCO’S World Cultural Heritage List.

Zakopane has a collection of resorts for you to choose from, including Kasprowy Wierch, Nosal Ski Station, Szymoszkowa Ski Station, or the Harenda Family Recreation Centre. They all have their own perks and combined, there are enough slopes to really get into for your ski trip. Zakopane is also well known for being beginner friendly, with several easy trails that are perfect for those that haven't clocked up a huge number of slope hours.

When you think Spain you think of sun, cocktails on the beach, all inclusive holidays, but have you ever associated Spain with skiing? The Sierra Nevada is situated in Andalusia, which is in the south of Spain. This ski area has pistes for every level, plus fantastic cross-country skiing trails and even a snow park that comes with a 120m long half pipe. The area as a whole reaches a whopping 3282m altitude, making this Spanish resort about as snow-sure as it gets.
